College & Career Entrance Exams

College Entrance Exams:
These standardized tests are used by colleges and universities to evaluate an applicant's readiness for higher education. They assess skills in areas such as reading, writing, and mathematics, and can play a role in admissions decisions, particularly at selective institutions.

Career Entrance Exams: (aptitude/readiness tests)
These assessments are designed to measure an individual's skills, abilities, interests, and personality traits to identify potential career paths or job roles where they might excel. These assessments help evaluate how an individual's strengths align with the demands of various jobs and fields, and can provide insight into potential for growth and development.

Note: While some colleges use entrance exams for admissions and placement, many are adopting test-optional policies, emphasizing other factors like MCA Scores, GPA, Essays, and Extracurricular Activities. Career entrance exams are widely used by employers for hiring and talent development.

Why Take the SAT

The SAT, or Scholastic Aptitude Test, is a standardized exam used for college admissions in the United States. It assesses a student's readiness for college by evaluating their skills in reading, writing, and math. The test is developed and administered by the College Board.

Most MN Schools look at your ACT scores versus SAT scores, however if applying in other areas of the Unites States, schools may look more at the SAT score. Usually students take one or the other when applying to colleges. You can take both if you'd like!
