School Board of Education
The Holdingford School Board consists of seven members, elected by the public, who serve four-year terms. Elections are held in conjunction with the general election in November. A high school student is appointed as a non-voting student representative to the Board, and the Superintendent is an ex-officio member as well. School Board members are responsible for establishing the district budget and for generating district policies. The Board officially enters into contract agreements on behalf of the organization, though the delegation of responsibilities for the operation of the district flows through the office of the Superintendent of Schools and his/her administrative team.
The Superintendent of Schools is appointed by the School Board as its chief executive officer. He/She administers Board policies, oversees the operation of the school district, and keeps the Board informed of the needs and programs of the schools. The Superintendent and administrative staff are professional resources to the Board, and their recommendations normally precede Board action.
